For this month’s Active Alt feature, I joined the James River Hikers. They have regular meetup groups that explore areas in and around Richmond and the James River.
This group took a 5 and half mile walk, led by Pamela Thompson. Pamela plans the route to take on six sets of steps, making the hike a real “Mountain Training!” But it can also be modified to fit your exercise level as some steps are optional. Capitol Trail, Libby Park, Taylor’s view, and Jefferson Park are just some of the locations visited in this Church Hill/Downtown hike. It’s a brisk walk in a beautiful area of the city with amiable people – a great way to end your weekday.
For more information on the hike and to sign up, both for James River Hikers and for this particular hike, check them out on meetup!
