David Green is the Chief Executive Officer of GRTC Transit System, the Richmond region’s provider of public transportation, which includes fixed-route bus transit, over-the-road coach express service, and paratransit transportation for those needing individualized care. GRTC provides 8.3 million passenger trips a year and also oversees RideFinders, the region’s transportation demand management agency that provides services to facilitate reduction of single occupancy vehicles. Under his leadership, GRTC is focused on working with employees, customers, transit stakeholders and the community to provide clean, safe and reliable transportation and improve mobility throughout Central Virginia. With over 16 years of transit experience, David is focused on increasing ridership, improving efficiency, and promoting regional collaboration. His executive leadership provides insight to the challenges facing today’s organizations. Currently, GRTC is sponsoring the largest design/build project ever undertaken for the expansion of public transportation in Richmond, the GRTC Pulse. This project will provide bus rapid transit over a 7.6 mile corridor from Willow Lawn in Henrico County to Rocketts Landing and is scheduled to open in October 2017.
